MAKEBAKECAKE

I hereby cordially welcome myself to the the world of blogs.
Alright so here I go...
Wherever I've gone I've always found someone who was truly madly deeply in love...with cakes...like myself.
Cakes have been an obsession with me from the time I remember. The power of a soft, spongy slice of dark chocolate cake to lift you out of your misery - Im sure is something many men and women swear by...What happy occassion can be celebrated without cutting a cake and popping the bubbly?
With the mindboggling variety- in flavours and layers - theres a lot for cake lovers to choose from..A cake for every mood - chocolate, vanilla, black forest, butterscotch, carrot, strawberry, black current - like icecream, cakes are a mouth watering delicacy that will never ever die.
I refuse to get into the history geography and biology of cakes here because thats what our famous search engine Google is here for(Seriously..).
Now why MAKEBAKECAKE - If you just thought its because - Make, bake and cake rhyme and I wanted to blog, well, hmm that could be 'a' reason, but its also because I would like to find Mad Hatters like myself who love cakes and everything about them - the exquisite aroma that wafts through the kitchen when its ready and out of the oven,or perhps when you walk into your favourite coffeeshop, the delicious taste that sends all your senses tingling.and the mmmm feeling you get once you are done and your arm stretches involuntarily to the knife (or for some even directly onto the cake) for yet another slice..
For the twenty odd years that I have had the fortune to live on earth, I have been a fan of all kinds of cake. Whether I have made one myself? Well...I have....tried a hand at 'strategically' placing the batter into the oven and declaring to my friends that I 'baked' the cake that they were singing praises about..(Sorry Mom, Thanks Mom) which wasnt a lie come to think of it( I have heard that in many bakeries in Europe there are people specially appointed just to place the cake into the oven - The Placement Specialists .. ;)).
I plan to keep my first blog sweet and short and would like to blog off by inviting all cake lovers across the world to share their experiences with cake...irrespective of caste, creed, colour, flavour or size and their recipes if any...Enjoy!!!

Well Well... So Nishi is finally online... :).. And looks like a "yummy" topic to talk about. Cakes have never been an obsession to me, but I must agree to the fact that cakes are ideal for certain moods.. ;). Well talking about cakes, I had this yummy mousse cake that some of us had purchased from "Sweet Chariot" in Koramangala-Bangalore. The upper layer was made of mousse (vanilla+chocolate+coffee) which was on top of a black forest base. I must admit that I haven't had such a yummy piece of cake in the last couple of years of my life.

And Nishi.. Nice name that you chose for the blog... However, I just have a doubt about Make and Bake... Don't we normally 'make' cakes by 'baking' them? Or are there any other types of cakes... Just a thought thats all.. But the name of the blog rocks... :)

Hey..sexy blog...though I must admit when i first saw the name I thought Nishi would tell us how to make new and diffeent cakes!!And I wondered how the hell she would do that!!hehehhehe consiering I m the one who caught her on the "placement speacialist" strategy!!! :)
Anyway as for my experiences with cakes...I must say I was never a fan of them when I was little...not even chocolate cake..infact I hated chocolate cake and icecream!!!
But then I tried the chocolate excess cake at Barista....pure bliss and I was converted....plus I was lucky enuff to find 4 friends who loved the sin of chocolate excess as much as me!!
I think cakes never tasted better than when 5 friends sit together disuss life and topics waaaaaaaaaaay beyond their years and well some topics that are ALWAYS discussed no matter what!!!(wink...wink) :)
But one confession I must make...all the excess cakes aside..I adore Nishis chocolate brownie/cake that she use to bring from home!!
THAT will always remain my fav cake ;)
